Proverbs 6:6
No, I don’t mean like we have with some polarizing creature, like dogs. If we were told to ‘go to the dog’, we’d probably say, ‘Depends which dog’. Whereas with ants, people generally don’t feel strongly about them either way. So going to them doesn’t create any issues.
There’s something welcomingly universal about ants. They are great levelers. They make us all feel big in a world where everything is trying to make us feel small, and yet at the same time they help us see how small we really are, on a cosmic scale.
Also, since most of us at some point have tried - and failed - to quell their inexorable tide, we've learned to respect them for their tenacity and strength.
They keep their heads down, mind their own business (usually), operate on their own level with 100% commitment, don't use their gift to promote themselves ...
Hmm, looks like I've just described the ideal worker profile.
But you won't find any ant profiles in social media. They're not showy like that. They're humble and unassuming. Though their control of their environment is virtually unbreakable, they don't go around publicizing the fact.
And although ants themselves aren't very approachable or attractive, the idea of 'the ant' is appealing – or at least inoffensive - as a universal ideal.
'Go to the ant' is a unifying call. It goes beyond social barriers and cultural differences. Anybody and everybody, wherever and however, can go to the ant. No excuse. No hangups to deal with. No logistical problems to overcome.
So let's go to the ant, shall we?
Ants are the Great Levelers

Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise!

'Go to the Ant' may seem like a strange heading for a webpage, but I've been finding it good advice lately. And anyway, we all have a relationship with ants, don't we?
