Rekindling the Spark

Wouldn't it be great if games never lost their lure, or didn't end their days gathering dust on our shelves waiting to be traded?

Wouldn't it be great if we could keep coming back to the same game year after year to discover new angles and fresh strategies?

I guess with many games that's unlikely. But then replayability always was a relative concept, wasn't it?

For me, chess lost its replayability years ago. But it's been around for centuries for something. For the lack of decent alternatives? Or because people keep managing to  rekindle its spark?

My goal in writing reviews about games is to keep their vital spark alive, first for me, and then for anyone else who may be listening.

Thanks for listening.
